Waste Reduction Technologies (WRT) strives to eliminate or beneficially re-use waste where possible. Our technologies can turn waste into energy or just clean it up so that it doesn't contaminate the environment when it goes to landfill. Our MSW technology can reduce the amount of garbage that goes to a landfill by more than 60%. Our soil remediation technologies can make dirty dirt clean again.
Contaminated Soil Remediation
Waste Reduction Technologies is dedicated to providing a complete soil recovery and recycling solution. WRT handles each customers load independently. When incoming soil is inspected, each load is individually labeled, segregated, and then tracked through the entire remediation process. Soil is stored on a lined cell surface specially designed for, and dedicated to contaminated soil. Petroleum and pesticide contaminated materials are thermally treated, while lead and other heavy metal contaminated materials are chemically fixated.
Municipal Solid Waste Treatment
 WRT has proven technology (1) for separation of MSW into four basic marketable categories utilizing steam classification. Curbside MSW goes directly into the processor where it is sterilized and separated into biomass, ferrous and non-ferrous metals, plastic and glass.
Waste Tire Recycling
Used tires are processed in the WRT system utilizing both its primary and secondary shredding technology. Tires to be marketed as tire derived fuel may be sold either whole or shredded into chips. Subsequent to the shredding process WRT gasification technology(2) can be used to break tire rubber; a thermo set material, into its primary marketable components which include steel, carbon, condensable gas and non-condensable gas which may be either sold and/or used as process fuel.
